1. Send a letter or e-mail to your MP. If you don’t know who this is, you can find out here.​

2. Sign Tim Roca’s MP for Macclesfield petition.

3. Write to Cheshire East Council and ask them to formally object. Do this before their meeting of 10th December. ​​Here's a template for you to use.​

4. Check out the work that Cheshire Wildlife Trust and the Campaign for Rural England are doing. Consider joining or donating to these organisations to support their work.

5. Get your children and grandchildren involved. Help them write a letter to the Prime Minister… or even the King. Ask their schools to engage with this issue and help to promote the importance of the countryside and natural habitats.

6. Get informed. Use the resources on this website and Cheshire Wildlife Trust website to learn more about the proposals.

​

7. Read about the changes to planning law that are restricting your abilities to protect the natural environment around you here.​

​

8. Talk to everyone you know. Make sure that everyone in Cheshire, Derbyshire and Greater Manchester and wider knows about these plans to destroy our environment. Talk to friends and family in other parts of the UK. The destruction of the greenbelt is a national issue.

9. Go for a walk this weekend. If you don’t already, get to know and love this beautiful area. There are amazing networks of footpaths and bridleways all across the Adlington area. This is your resource to use and enjoy. Download a free app such as OS Maps or OutdoorActive to make sure you are following public rights of way.

10. Get involved in the campaign. Send us photos and upload any photos of unusual/ rare wildlife to Cheshire Wildlife Trust.

11. Join the social media groups objecting to the campaign on Facebook (Adlington New Town - NO & Supporters of Adlington Greenbelt) and Instagram (Stop Adlington New Town).
