Who are we?

​

We are a group of Adlington residents seeking to block the proposal which is to build between 14,000 - 20,000 houses on Green Belt land with the associated destruction of habitat for our local wildlife.

After the initial shock of learning from a national press announcement that our small village of just over 1,000 inhabitants is being earmarked for a New Town that might contain in excess of 55,000 inhabitants and cause the destruction of the countryside and wildlife which most of us love dearly, we are now mobilising to oppose the proposed development.

The building will destroy mostly good quality agricultural land set inside often ancient field patterns, lose local farmers their livelihoods and significantly add to pollution.
